Playing off Orqa’s mysterious and organic aesthetic, we composed a full-length video, featuring moody shots in and above the woods, the ocean and the mountains. To nod to the continuity of time, which is what the song “Move Along” eludes to, we played heavily with speed, transitions and loops to really tell the story in an abstract manner. We really wanted the visuals to do the talking rather than have a particular person or thing the focus of the video. Most of our video footage was shot internally.
Once approved, we broke out 12 different ads from the full-length video to both horizontally and vertically place in Instagram Stories and in-stream advertisements.
Finally, as the album title “Stones” and the 6 tracks within have a particular “rune” associated with each, we really wanted to showcase this detail by looping video with an overlaid rune for the said track(s) on Spotify.
With a very small media budget ($250) compared to what we are used to and a very short timeline (4 weeks) we were able to successfully reach over 500,000 people on Instagram with ~540,000 impressions. There were almost 300,000 full plays, 350,000 post engagements and over 3,000 clicks.
Additionally, Orqa’s social media following significantly grew, his monthly Spotify listeners were 18x what they were pre-campaign and because of our efforts, we have provided him with lifelong fans.
I couldn’t be happier with my experience with BTD, I was absolutely pleased with the album release campaign and video work. Extremely professional, easy to work with, and a great product overall. Jedidiah Burtoft - Orqa Music
