Bound By Design Tattoo & Piercing Studio is a cornerstone of Denver’s tattoo and piercing scene. Established in 1993, Bound has spent more than three decades earning their reputation for expert craftsmanship, diverse artistic styles, and a deep respect for the permanence of the work they create. In 2025, the studio marked a major milestone with the opening of a second Denver location in Alamo Placita, a space dedicated to elevated piercing services and high-end jewelry. To support this expansion and introduce the new location to the city, Bound partnered with us to develop custom signage, print collateral, and artful photo and video content that reflects the studio’s legacy while signaling its next chapter.
Everything we do at B–T–D centers on thoughtful brand elevation, and Bound was no exception. The goal was to honor a 30+ year legacy while refining and unifying the brand for its next evolution, including the launch of Bound’s second location, aptly named The Chrysalis.
We began with the logo. Rather than reinventing an it, we refined it. Curves were softened and paths simplified to create a smoother, more modern mark that still respects Bound’s history. The result feels less rigid and more human, mirroring the approachable and highly professional experience clients receive the moment they walk through the door.
On the digital side, we expanded the custom website we originally built for Bound to support multi-location functionality. This included advanced Square integrations that allow clients to book piercings at either studio, filter piercers by location, and schedule directly with their preferred artist. The experience is seamless, intuitive, and designed around how clients can almost mindlessly book appointments.
To announce the opening of The Chrysalis, we developed bold, large-scale signage and posters positioned along high-traffic corridors including Colfax Avenue and 6th Street. Supporting print collateral such as flyers and appointment cards reinforced the new location while highlighting Bound’s expanded piercing and jewelry offerings.
Finally, we provided Bound with a focused and well-structured half-day photo/video shoot at each location. The media content was centered on people, place, professionalism, and product, capturing the essence of Bound as exists in the wild. That media now lives across Bound’s digital ecosystem, from social channels to the website, creating a cohesive and authentic brand presence across every touchpoint.
The launch of Bound’s second location delivered a cohesive, instantly recognizable extension of the brand while preserving the original studio’s status as an iconic destination for tattoo and piercing services. The Chrysalis opened with a clear sub-identity, seamlessly connected to Bound’s legacy, yet purpose-built for elevated piercing and jewelry experiences.
Digitally, the website now functions as a high-performing booking tool, streamlining the appointment process and generating consistent daily bookings across both locations. The refined logo system has been widely praised, resonating with longtime clients while feeling fresh and relevant to a new generation and reinforces Bound’s position as a trusted, forward-thinking leader in Denver’s tattoo and piercing community.
