Sensus Media, a digital agency for nonprofit organizations and social enterprises, partnered with Wide Horizons for Children (WHFC), a nonprofit dedicated to the well-being and security of vulnerable and orphaned children worldwide, to deliver a redesigned and developed website. The brand needed both a facelift and a robust website to house many of the new interactive features that they needed to offer clients and visitors. John Connelly, owner of Sensus Media, approached Brent Thelen Design (BTD) to give the brand a bit of a facelift and design a new website for WHFC, keeping in mind many strict digital needs.
Using a simple and modern typeface (Helvetica Neue), in conjunction with a playful, script typeface (Chasing Embers One), complimentary iconography, compelling photography, a vibrant color palette and a hierarchy-based information flow, BTD designed a cohesive and fluid website which funnels users to where they need to be quickly and efficiently.
The new website allows Wide Horizons for Children to reposition itself as more than just providing orphan care services but as a complete child welfare organization. With a fresh look-and-feel and a simple, complimentary user-experience, WHFC can now confidently share their vision and help more children and families worldwide than ever before.
